ValuOasis
helping your student succeed
Introducing ValuOasis
We are ValuOasis – soon to be the city’s first entertainment complex designed around the life values your family treasures.
We support En Gedi, a non-profit ministry to students and families. For more than a decade, En Gedi has worked with local youth, emphasizing fellowship, growth, and individual responsibility. The ValuOasis recreation complex will serve as a safe recreation destination for youth, and a home base and resource for the En Gedi team as they continue their mission work with students. En Gedi will invite church youth groups as well as families, local youth pastors, and adult groups for recreational programs to the ValuOasis property for projects and programs centered upon solid values and fellowship.
Of course, our ultimate hope for students is to develop support from the family, and fellowship with the Lord and the local church.
The features and attraction of the ValuOasis property are in development. Photos are for example only.
ValuOasis: A Short Story...
I was speaking with a young teacher in Kansas City about his student Nate.
I said, “What Nate needs is a job. He’s still in high school – so he’ll need some training.”
My friend smiled and gently steered me straight: “He couldn’t read when he graduated from elementary school. Middle school was a struggle, and he essentially gave up. After we talked, Nate agreed to continue in school. But, he was expelled. They caught him with a gun in his backpack.
“He claimed it wasn’t his – a friend must have planted it.”
“The struggle is real,” my friend continued. “Kids see other kids with easy money, and that’s powerful. Why struggle with schoolwork when illegal hustling or selling street drugs can earn them hundreds of dollars a day – or an hour?”
Yes, the struggle is real. In the best of all worlds, parents pass on their treasured values to their children, with assistance from teachers, coaches, church leaders, and a community of friends.
But, 2023 isn’t the best of all worlds! Today, students are drowning in a culture that seems to reward exactly the wrong values. The fundamentals – like telling the truth, not hurting or taking advantage of others, and planning and completing tasks – often are overlooked.

ValuOasis: The Vision
We believe that strong families and communities are built upon values. Parents have the right and the obligation to oversee those values.
Today’s public education system isn’t working well. Many students can’t read at a fourth-grade level. When students can’t read, they become used to failure. They may stop trying to read, write, and think critically – and may even drop out of school.
Critical elements in a student’s life journey include learning to read, write, and solve basic math problems. When students become life-long problem solvers, they establish a path on the road to success. Success with the basics leads to confidence to tackle harder problems. Failure may spark withdrawal from parents, teachers, and friends. Cycles of disappointment can be hard to break.
ValuOasis has a vision: to help families and the communities they live in. To support students, parents, families, and communities, ValuOasis will:
- Engage with students and help them identify THEIR problems.
- Gain trust by helping tackle their challenges with reading and phonics.
- Encourage each to develop confidence and become a lifelong problem solver.
- Build programs, properties, and teams that support families and communities.
If students in your family or community need help solving life, ValuOasis offers new hope. Through interdiction and support, students can grow and begin to trust others.
ValuOasis Supports Parents
Without a vision of the end goal, students are likely to drift in dangerous seas. When parents present a family model that emphasizes team building and responsibility, they help their student construct a vision
Together they build trust and catalyze success.
ValuOasis Supports Teachers
Students learn a broad spectrum of values from many teachers.Parents team closely with teachers (classroom instructors, pastors, coaches, youth group leaders, and many others) to build solid values, strong relationships, and skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking.
Solid values reward students with spiritual growth and employable skills that lead to real life change.
ValuOasis Supports En Gedi
En Gedi, a non-profit organization, works with students growing up in a spiritually uncertain culture.En Gedi seeks to earn trust by helping instill the solid values and valuable tools that young people can use every day.
By building confidence to meet and resolve life’s challenges, students develop the survival skills that lead to success.
ValuOasis: Mission, Business, & Values
Mission: ValuOasis is Limited Liability Corporation in Kansas with a mission to assist parents, families, and communities and to help students succeed. We plan to do this by developing properties and programs that accomplish the mission.
Business Structure: We designed ValuOasis as a manager-member LLC. This legal organization structure protects members protection from liability and provides the most favorable tax status. For example, the LLC never operates at a profit, and issues a K-1 form to members each year that allows them to take a loss on their state and federal taxes. Management reinvests any profit income directly into the community. If ValuOasis ever distributes a profit; a K1 allows earnings to be taxed at the corporate rate. If laws and situations change. tax projections may change, and current laws will then apply.
An elected group of managers oversees the day-to-day operations of ValuOasis. Managers submit budgets, contracts, and collect significant questions for comments and a vote for approval by all members. All voting, profit, and losses are assigned to members based on ownership percentage. Owners may receive coupons for services at ValuOasis based on their percentage of ownership.
Values: We believe in the values represented in the New Testament. When Jesus taught, He frequently used parables about people making choices. Students – and families – are all different: they develop different biases, backgrounds, and beliefs as the culture bombards each of us with a spectrum of ideas. The parables of Jesus taught about people, not about large organizations or countries. ValuOasis seeks to help individuals, families, and youth groups discover the true value in relationships with other people and the future.
Poverty can be spiritual or monetary. As an example, a student recently asked En Gedi for a $2000 loan for a car to use to travel to work. When En Gedi asked if he held debt, the student’s only obligation turned out to be student loans. Instead of loaning money for a car, En Gedi bought a used motorcycle for under $1000 and established a repayment plan for the student could own the bike when the loan was repaid. En Gedi helped him find a job at a General Dollar store closer to home, and worked with him to encourage spiritual growth and personal responsibility. He was soon promoted to Store Manager.
ValuOasis: Property & Attractions
At launch, the ValuOasis property will include boat, RV, and indoor storage. Later, we’ll add exciting miniature golf courses, a food court, and ultimately conference center rooms.
A ValuOasis membership allows certificate holders to participate with family members in the attractions. Registered unit certificate holders may buy, sell, lease, or transfer their ownership at no charge.
ValuOasis: Memberships & Advantages
Level One Membership
Units authorized: 646,000 ValuOasis units at $1.00 each.
Goal: Purchase five acres in Wyandotte county and install storage lockers and covered facilities for boats. We chose storage because it has low maintenance requirements and low employee costs. Research into the immediate area indicates that available storage space is at a minimum.
Benefits to Unit Holders: Club members are eligible for storage at a reduced rate depending on the level of participation. One possibility is a holder of a thousand units may store a boat for half price. The coupons do not expire and may be transferred or redeemed later.
Level Two Membership

Goal: Purchase and install two custom one-acre miniature golf courses, a small food court, a kitchen, and parking for 30 cars.
